The Chassis Systems Control Division develops innovative components, systems, and functions in the field of vehicle safety, vehicle dynamics, and driver assistance. Active safety systems recognize hazardous driving situations and intervene to prevent accidents. If an accident is unavoidable, passive safety systems provide protection for vehicle occupants and reduce the risk of injury. Driver assistance systems offer drivers not only comfort but increasingly support in safety-critical situations.
Our competence lies in the networking of active and passive safety systems with driver assistance systems, which allows us to achieve new dimensions in safety, agility, and comfort. Our product portfolio comprises:
- electronic brake-control systems such as ABS, TCS and ESP®
- sensors (e.g. wheel-speed, steering-angle, and yaw-rate sensors)
- electronics for occupant and pedestrian safety (e.g. airbag control unit and crash sensors)
- driver assistance systems based on radar and video sensor technology (e.g. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Night Vision)
- networked system solutions for safety (CAPS - Combined Active and Passive Safety) and agility (VDM - Vehicle Dynamics Management)
Together with the Chassis Systems Brakes Division, we work to jointly develop new solutions for complete brake systems.
