About the program

Internship

There are many benefits to an internship with us – above all, for you. We invest in your education in Germany or elsewhere and keep an eye on your future. Many of our interns go on to successfully join the Bosch team. Whatever your course requirements might be, we have an internship to fill the bill – from preliminary and basic through compulsory internships to entire semesters on the job. The duration of your internship can range from three to six months, depending on type and requirements. In case you study in the field of STEM and show a special engagement, you are welcome to join our exclusive program, students@bosch.

We offer internships abroad in over 50 countries on all continents. Take advantage of our extensive network and add a new dimension to your specialist knowledge with a 3- to-6 month placement at a location of your choice – from Argentina to Australia and from Warsaw to Wuxi. We’re happy to assist you if questions arise regarding visas, work permits, finding accommodation, etc.

Having an internship abroad on your CV is in many respects a big plus for your career. What qualifies you:

You completed your bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, the Natural Sciences or a business discipline with outstanding grades and aim to get your master’s. Besides excellence in your technical field, you also bring these personal attributes to the table:

Interns from which fields of study are in highest demand at Bosch?

We offer internships for almost all fields of study with special emphasis on the engineering sciences (e.g. precision mechanics, electrical, automation/production and mechanical engineering), computer science, physics, and business studies.

What requirements must I meet to be accepted for an internship?

The requirements vary from internship to internship and are outlined in the job advertisement. As a rule, you should have an excellent academic record, basic knowledge of the relevant field, team spirit, a flexible and cosmopolitan outlook as well as a good knowledge of English.

How long is an internship?

Depending on the course requirements set by your university, you should allow for between one and six months on the job.

Can I do a voluntary internship if I have already graduated?

You are welcome to make your application accessible via our global applicant pool. That means our recruiters can view the applicant profile that you have created and contact you regarding suitable positions. The more detailed your profile, the better your chances of being contacted with an offer.

Is it possible to do a preliminary or basic internship?

Absolutely. In that case, the duration of the internship will depend on your university’s requirements.

Will I receive any payment for the internship?

Because we appreciate your commitment and dedication, you will receive appropriate remuneration for interning. The amount varies between €400 and €975 per month according to the nature of your studies, the duration of your internship, and how many semesters you have already completed.

Does Bosch have a student program?

students@bosch is a company-wide student program. Participants are given regular information updates on our company and have access to our exclusive online network. Target group specific events, follow-up activities in Germany and abroad for students as well as individual guidance round out the program.

What can Bosch offer me as a working student?

During term time, you can work for us for up to ten hours a week. You can increase your input to as many as 35 hours a week during semester breaks. Remuneration for working students depends on the relevant location. Please enquire directly there.

What application deadlines do I need to adhere to?

You should apply at least four months before you would like to begin your internship. As our specialist departments sometimes need to fill gaps in staffing at short notice, you may be able to start much sooner.

How do I apply for an internship abroad?

Our locations abroad also offer internships. Please contact the personnel department at the location of your choice directly.

As a student at a university outside Germany, can I apply for an internship there?

Yes, we’re happy to welcome interns from around the world. You should be registered at a university and ideally have a strong grasp of the German language.

How does the application process for internships work?

Send your application to the personnel department at your location of choice. To do this, please use our online application form, which you will find with every job advertisement. All your documents can be included as file attachments (covering letter, resume, references, etc.).

How does the selection process work?

After a preliminary selection based on the written applications, candidates will be invited to an interview with an HR partner and the supervisor of the relevant specialist department. As part of the interview process, the candidate frequently also has the opportunity to meet a few coworkers and form an impression of the working environment.
