Research Scientist Sequential Decision Making for Autonomous Systems (f/m/div.)
Aufgaben
- As a part of our team, you will develop machine learning approaches for sequential decision making in an automated driving context.
- You will work closely with business units dealing with automated driving to understand their requirements for AI-based decision making and develop novel methods to improve performance for driving assistants as well as fully automated driving.
- Special focus of your work will be on learning decision policies that explicitly consider the interaction of many decision makers.
- In addition, you will use technologies such as imitation learning or reinforcement learning to infer sequential decision policies from real world data.
- You work with the latest deep learning technologies, such as graph neural networks, transformer architectures or differentiable simulations.
- Furthermore, you perform original research on learning robust and safe policies for long horizon simulation.
- Also, you apply and advance machine learning methods at scale to solve real challenges for future products.
- Finally, you will work in an international research team of scientists as well as engineers and closely cooperate with business units.
Profil - Education: university degree (perferably PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar with focus on machine learning and algorithms
- Experience and Knowledge: excellent knowledge in machine learning methods and algorithms for sequential decision making, prior experience with methods such as Imitation Learning, Reinforcement Learning or Graph Neural Networks are a plus, considerable experience in a research environment with tier-1 publications in machine learning or related fields., experience with modern machine learning libraries and toolchains in Python is expected, additional experience with C++ is a plus
- Enthusiasm: passionate to implement machine learning algorithms in real-world applications
