Aufgaben

Did you always want to perform research on complex dynamic systems and at the same time create exciting future products? Nano- and micro-electromechanical systems (NEMS and MEMS) require a high skill level to master and are ubiquitous in a variety of high-tech applications such as smartphones, autonomous vehicles, or VR devices.

At Bosch corporate research we combine in-depth investigations of cause-effect relationships with modern, data and AI-driven simulation approaches, algorithms and system level design to shape these sensors of the future. We are continuously pushing the limits of what is possible and, in close cooperation with our developers in the business divisions, are launching new as well as innovative MEMS products for everyday life applications.

  • As a senior expert on system architecture and engineering you will work in diverse teams of experts on innovative MEMS sensors in early phases of the development for novel consumer or automotive products.
  • You will be responsible for defining hardware as well as software architectures and particularly the interplays between the components and the host system to identify the most promising topics to focus on for the advance of our products.
  • Furthermore, you drive the (pre-)development from ideation, requirements engineering, model-based simulations, code generation and implementation to proof of concept as well as verification.
  • Also, you will coordinate cross-organizational activities with the teams working on design and simulation, ASIC, micromechanics, packaging, characterization as well as final testing. A key aspect is to push the product limits and to find alternative approaches.
  • The transfer of the results of the early development phase to series development by formulating conclusive recommendations based on your findings and proven results is also part of your responsibility.
  • Finally, you are a multiplicator of knowledge within Bosch and advance the frontiers of research beyond our organization by collaborating with universities as well as institutes and publish your results, for example in patents.

Profil

  • Education: excellent degree (Master/Diploma/PhD) in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Aerospace, Electronics or comparable
  • Experience and Knowledge: several years of experience with MEMS sensors and actuators development in a leading role, broad and deep technical understanding of physical modelling, expert knowledge on MEMS system architectures and tooling for design as well as simulation, good understanding in software development, efficient coding and preferably experience in machine learning/AI methods
  • Personality: curious, inspiring and visionary, open-minded, team player, willing to share knowledge, strong communication skills
  • Working Practice: structured, analytical, resultoriented
  • Enthusiasm: pro-actively shaping and expanding key topics
  • Languages: very good in English, good in German
